VISIBILITY

The lighting is just enough to see the performers’ face. The white snow from the setting is suppose to cast a bright light into the medium lit room. This creates a winter scene and mood for the audience.

VISUAL COMPOSITION

The room is medium lit which would help the light director easily put emphasize on the characters that are talking. Each time each characters speak and/or argue, the

lighting would focus on whoever the conversation includes, helping the one who leave or enters be less noticed until their

part comes.

MOOD & STYLE

In the second act where the family members and friends gathered together for a memorial service for Maria’s “death”, all the furniture were black causing a darker lighting than usual. It created a mourning, sad, and lifeless mood.

In the first act, the lighting will a bit bright to introduce everyone in the play. It gets dimmer due to wintertime. The light will focus on everyone since everyone in the scene is as important as the others.
