NORTH1. The Domaine de Labourdonnais is an old sugar plantation, which has been brilliantly reinvented. You will be able to visit the old master’s house, the orchards and rum distillery, and taste some of the local specialties made from locally-grown fruits.

L’Aventure du Sucre is a museum set at the heart of an old sugar mill. Learn about the island’s past, slavery and rum production through the history of the local sugar industry.

Located off the lagoon, the northern islets can be reach by boat. Book your catamaran cruise through the hotel customer service and sail away.

Pamplemousses Garden houses a great diversity of plants brought by botanist Pierre Poivre from all corners of the world. Do not miss out the lily pond! Opposite the garden is Saint François D’Assise Church, which was built during the 18th century.

Port Louis is the ideal place to experience local lifestyle, with its market, old shops and places of worship… You might want to visit the Caudan Waterfront, Appravasi Ghat Museum and Blue Penny Museum.

Grand-Baie‘s Bazar offers a wide range of souvenirs from here and there, ideal to spoil yourself or bring gifts back home.

7. Cap Malheureux’s chapel is such a charming church, famous for its red roof that beautifully blends into the picture-perfect landscape.

Triolet’s temple is the biggest Hindu temple on the island. Everyone is welcome inside for a visit or to take part in the celebrations and prayers.

Underwater activities are available in great number and diversity: diving sites and courses, submarine tours, subscooter, undersea walking…

The Historic Marine Factory is the biggest of the island and has existed for more than 30 years. You can either visit it or buy a ship model to bring home.

Le Souffleur offers a natural vista that will take your breath away. You will drive on a bumpy road across sugar cane fields before reaching this incredible landscape.

La Vanille Réserve des Mascareignes is a children-friendly nature park. Kids will enjoy seeing crocodiles, caimans, giant tortoises as well as deer and monkeys.

Gris-gris and its wonderful beach offers a unique panoramic view, which somehow reminds of Brittany by cloudy day. A blast of fresh air!

Rochester Falls gently unfold at the end of a beaten track that can only be crossed by foot. You can also swim under the waterfalls after the stroll.

Baie du Cap Road has been ranked among the top ten most beautiful roads of the world in the French travel guide, Petit Futé. You will most probably travel across that road while visiting the South.

The Black River National Park will certainly please nature lovers with its deep forest, rivers, waterfalls and spectacular views.

Casela World of Adventures is a family-friendly adventure park, which includes an aviary, a zoo and many other activities: safari, quadbiking, zipline…

Chamarel overlooks the western coast of the island. It harbours numerous attractions: the Seven Coloured Earth, Curious Corner, Chamarel’s rum distillery…

The Morne Brabant is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is both a popular kitesurf spot and a mountain that can be climbed with a guide.

Tamarin Bay and its beach are different from any other seaside spots on the island because of its wild and authentic atmosphere. It also is the ideal spot to learn surf!

21. Blue Bay Marine Park can be explored with masks, fins and snorkels and takes you to discover hundreds of different fish types.

Ile aux Cerfs stretches on more than 4 km of white-sand beaches. With a one-kilometer stroll only, you can take in an idyllic view over the ocean.

Vieux Grand Port is an historical site, where the famous battle between French and British marine forces once took place. A few kilometres from there, Mahebourg village seems frozen in time.

Stretching over 497 hectares, Bras d’Eau National Park is ideal for beautiful nature hikes and to discover endemic species such as the Echo Parakeet.

Bois Chéri tea route includes a visit of the tea factory and of the museum, as well as a tea tasting session, in a wonderful tea field landscape.

Eureka is a typical Creole mansion, which has stood the test of urban development and now offers total immersion into the island’s past through its museum, restaurant and garden.
