About Hawaii island

Hawaii Island is 4,028 sq. miles

Home to one of the world's most active volcanoes and the world's tallest sea mountain.

There are six major islands to visit in Hawaii: Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii Island.

In 1898, Hawaii became a territory of the United States.

1,500 years ago, Polynesians from the Marquesas Islands first set foot on Hawaii Island.
