MEETING : coming together of a number of people in one place, to confer or carry out a particular activity.

INCENTIVE - meeting event as part of a programme which is offered to its participants to reward a previous performance.

CONFERENCE - participatory meeting designed for discussion, fact-finding, problem solving and consultation.

EXHIBITION - Events at which products and services are displayed.

The significance of the MICE industry is that it adds an exciting layer to annual business meetings and conferences transforming them from boring, dull all-work-no-play get togethers to something pleasurable. Poor road transportation Despite a lot of liberalization there is still a lot of red-tape to cut through. Lack of Infrastructural Development in Tourism Sector Largest Exhibition Centre in India, Pragati Maidan, needs immediate

refurbishments. Still not equipped to host any event which has 10000 or more delegate

capacity. The increasing amount of criminal offences in India has also created a

negative impact .

All inclusive destinations and MICE hubs should be planned and structured in a futuristic manner.

MoT, along with the centres should promote India’s image as a MICE Destination overseas through prominent media and publicity campaigns.

Government should also role out strict safety and security measures for tourists.
