INTRODUCTION

Magod Falls is located at Magodu in Uttar Kannad.

Magod Falls is formed from river Bedti when it falls off from a height of 650 feet. The river water cascades down in two leaps thereby offering a mesmerizing view of the waterfall.

• The Magod Falls is surrounded by forests all around which adds more fun to the journey there.

• Magod Falls are to be visited not just for the waterfall but because it gives you the opportunity to experience a fun filled trekking session in the surrounding teak woods.

The thickly wooded countryside, the roar of gushing water and a good-looking view combine to make this spot an ideal option for outings.

Magod falls is amidst hills covered in green and the falls looks like Capuccino (light coffee) flowing with full force, churning froth along the way.

• Magod Falls is in the nearby Magodu village. It comes on the way from Ankola to Yallapur. Located about 17 kms from Yallapur.

• It is around 70 kms from Sirsi, 215 kms from Shimoga and around 450 kms from Bangalore.

• The falls is Located amidst thickly wooded forests, this waterfall rushes down into dense vegetation, so it stands in a tranquil spot.

• While trekking upstream to reach the waterfall, you’ll pass a point called Jenukallugudda.

• Plan your trekking trip here between November and March.

• as the mild weather will be conducive to the long trek up to the top of the waterfall, and the route will be definitely good.

By road mogad falls is about 19 km from Yellapur and 60 km

from Kumta.

• There is no proper accommodation facility in mogad.

• Hotels & rest houses are available at Yellapur that provide the basic comforts to the visitors.

• It is a good idea to eat after Kalgatgi in a Dhaba. And also pack some food/water etc.

• It is also a good idea to keep a torch, Knife, Match Box, just in case.

• Be careful while trekking down in Magod place. It is known to be very steep and dangerous.
