Galle• Popular for its iconic Fort, harbour and the gorgeous beaches, Galle is the most busiest city in the southern province in Sri Lanka.

• It is only a one hour drive from Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka.

• This is an ancient fortress built by the Portuguese and later used by the Dutch and the British.

• This Fort is also known as the best-preserved Sea-Fort in South Asia.

• This 426 year old fort features historical sites such as museums, Churches, a clock tower, light house and also a range of food outlets to try out.

Unawatuna Beach• Famous for its sandy beach, corals and clean waters, Unawatuna is only about 5kms away from Galle.

Japanese Peace Pagoda• Built by the Japanese to symbolize peace in Japan after the atomic bombs, this is one in eighty peace pagodas built around the world.

• The Peace Pagoda is located in Rumassala which according to the legends is said to be a piece of Himalaya brought by Hanuman to collect his medicinal plants.

• Peace Pagoda and Rumassala is only a 10 minutes drive from Galle.

Martin Wickramasinghe Museum

• This is the Residence of late Martin Wickramasinghe, the famous novelist in Sri Lanka during the 20th Century.

• Museum complex includes his old house, his belongings, his writing desk, local coconut oil extractor and many more.

• Its only a 20 minute drive from Galle.

Koggala Lake

• If you are a bird watcher, this is the ideal place to be.

• This lake attracts a wide range of birds as well as it has some famous small islands such as Madol Duwa.
