On the opposite side of the state, the Lake Erie Wine Country is a refreshingly beautiful region of New York, featuring 23 wineries that grow and produce a diverse variety of grapes. Because the region is so compact, the area is organized into one central Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Trail. The wineries on this trail are mostly boutique wineries where visitors will feel right at home in the vineyards and tasting rooms.
