CAPE TOWN | Golf

Today you will have the morning at leisure to explore the Waterfront an afternoon round of golf at Clovelly Country Club

Clovelly Country Club Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek in Cape Town lies Clovelly Country Club. With one of the finest golf courses in South Africa, Clovelly offers its members and visitors a memorable experien-ce. Clovelly – like fine Cape wines – improves steadily with age, and its vintage and quality is well established throughout South Africa, and indeed, beyond our shores. This reputation is founded on the warmth of Clovelly’s “family” character and its outstanding facilities. The club is proud to have been voted as the most Popular Course in South Africa by a panel from Golf Digest SA.

CAPE TOWN | Golf

Today you will be transferred to the Winelands to enjoy a round of golf at Pearl Valley Golf Estates.

Pearl Valley Golf EstatesThe Pearl Valley Golf Estate is surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains and bordered by vine-yards with The Berg River water hazard running through it. Nicklaus has stayed true to his design principles by working closely with nature and has provided a golf course that fits in with the environment. This fairly flat and largely uninterrupted terrain enabled Nicklaus the freedom to develop hole strategies making this a golf course the golfer has to think his/her way around.

Pearl Valley is a SA Open Championship course and in our opinion is a must play when visiting South Africa! After golf, you will be transferred to The Spice route in Paarl (to enjoy craft beer, chocolate, wine, cheese tastings, etc…).

Erinvale Golf Course The Erinvale Golf Course in Somerset West was designed by Gary Player and is seen as one of the best courses of the Western Cape province of South Africa. In 1996 it hosted the IGA World Cup of Golf. The course is situated on the former Erinvale Farm at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains. The views are spectacular. One can see beautiful the False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountain range in the east. The mountains protect the course from the wind. After golf, you will be transferred to Spier Hotel for check-in.

Spier Hotel The Village at Spier hotel is designed to recreate the intimate and relaxed atmosphere of a small village. The 155 rooms are situated in Cape styled buildings. The buildings are centered on six private courtyards and swimming pools, and connected by indigenous gardens and walkways.

STELLENBOSCH | Golf

Today enjoy a round of golf at De Zalze Golf Club.

De Zalze Golf Club This international championship golf course, designed by Peter Matkovich, lies in front of stunning mountains and surrounded by softly undulating vineyards. In our opinion De Zalze is one of the under rated gems in the Cape Winelands!

The friendly club house atmosphere, combined with the great year round conditioning make this a welcome golfing retreat.

STELLENBOSCH | Golf

Today you will be transferred to the Overberg region for golf at one of the top clubs in the Cape, Arabella Golf Club. After golf, you will be transferred back to Spier via the scenic coastal road.

Arabella Golf Club The course is 6381 metres in length and has a SAGU rating of 72. It borders the largest natural lagoon in South Africa, and the 9th, 17th and 18th run parallel to the lagoon. Choosing a signature hole proves to be an extre-mely difficult task as all of the holes are well designed with spectacular views. Peter Matkovich, who designed the Arabella Golf course, ensured that the 18 holes encompass the Mountain backdrops, lagoon frontage and forests on the estate near Kleinmond. These provide for links, parkland and coastal aspects, while the individual fairways provide natural corridors as vantage points to savour nature’s true beauty.

Nov 24GEORGE

GEORGE | Golf

Today you will enjoy a round of golf at Oubaai Golf Club.

Oubaai Golf Club The Ernie Els golf design philosophy is based on flexibility. Concepts are molded according to the landscape, not vice versa. The aim is to produce courses that are fun to play and that enhance the surrounding environment. In addition, golf courses fairly display challenges and hazards while affording players the opportunity to use a full range of shots and plan strategically for individual holes. The layout of the course is a traditional Links layout where veld grasses line the lush fairways. The course measures 6516m from the pro tee’s which is uniquely long for a Coastal course. Oubaai offers a wonderfully stimulating and enjoyable golfing experience. The Clu-bhouse has a dramatic location that overlooks the 16th, 17th and 18th greens.

GEORGE | Golf

Fream and David Dale have compared the look of Pezula golf course to that of Gleneagles in the Scottish Hi-ghlands and Pebble beach on the Monterey coastline. A terrain of rolling fairways, fynbos and eyebrow bunkers does, however, make it very difficult to walk this course. The five different tee options on every hole cater for all skill levels. No two challenges, or views, are alike.

KNYSNA| Golf

Today you will enjoy a round of golf at Simola Golf Club.

Simola Golf and Country Estate Teeing off can become a distracting affair when considering the spectacular views around the course. As the first of Jack Nicklaus’ Signature courses, Simola remains one of South Africa’s leading golf courses. This cour-se displays Jack Nicklaus’ commitment to ensuring that the layout and feel of the course maintains a close relationship to the natural lie of the land on which it is built. A fun, yet challenging, course is set in stunning surrounds, with five par 5’s and five par 3’s. This unusual formation presents new opportunities to first-time guests, while the lack of wind (due to the fact that the course lies below high ridges) assists the golfer in impro-ving his game sans outside disturbances. All holes provide players with amazing views of the Knysna Lagoon, the Heads, or the Knysna River.
