Nainital and its candles are synonymous. The Barra Market at Mallital is

lined with shops selling candles. Nainital is also a great place to pick up

natural preserves - an excellent variety of fruit squashes, jams, jellies,

pickles and marmalades, all locally produced, are available in shops lining

the Mall.

Spend your time walking leisurely by the lake, shopping at the Tibetan

market or climbing up to Snow View in the ropeway to admire the brilliant

vista of snow peaks.

Kausani is tucked away from prying eyes in the folds of the Himalayas and

is untouched, unsullied, unusual. Tall pine trees sway here in the wind and

everywhere you look there are flowers. This is a town made for rambling

walks, somber contemplation and solitude. Kausani also offers unparalleled

views of the Nandadevi, Trishul and Panchachuli snow peaks, covering a

300 kilometre long vista.
