“Vestmannaeyjar (which is the name of the island and of the village on it) has about 4000 inhabitants and is best known for its volcanic activities and for

the puffins.1973 there was the last eruption which created an actual mountain (200m high) out of nothing. This “mountain” was also the aim of our hiking trip on

the second day. The view from the top of this volcano is really amazing, especially because the landscape is just incredible. There are still spots that are warm and if you dig just a little bit, the
