J. B. DURÃO was born in 1957 in Lisbon, Portugal. Self taught painter, he has a Mechanical Engineering Degree, developing his Professional activity as Business Manager.Being a Portuguese Merchant Navy Officer for some years, the sea has always been a present theme in his work whether by specific references or by the way he draws the city’s contours. Thematic related to the ancient Lisbon or urban transports result in his paintings with great beauty, harmony expression and movement, which has established his uniqueness in the portuguese Naïf painting.
