How We Approach Client Deliverables from Reports to Infographics

PeopleMetrics is a provider of insight for data. We collect feedback from customer feedback.

And then we present it. In several ways.

Reports, online dashboards, and insightgraphics are a few. Here are a few of the guidelines we follow when producing

one of these deliverables for a client.

TIP 1: TELL STORIES

Your data must tell a story.

Your data must tell a story. Make sure that you present it as such.

“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.”

Robert McAfee Brown

TIP 2: BE CLEAR.

Your stories should be clear and concise.

Your stories should be clear and concise. The best stories are ones that are understood quickly.

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”

Confucius

TIP 3: BE BOLD

Not all information is equal.

Not all information is equal. Make sure to highlight and emphasize points

that help make your case.

Not all information is equal. Make sure to highlight and emphasize points

that help make your case.

Bold words that you want to stand out. Use color to call attention. Don’t overdo it.

IN PRACTICE

“It’s hard to get something across, unless you do something bold.”

Brooke Hammerling Founder, Brew Media Relations @brooke

TIP 4: USE ICONS

Sometimes, an icon can be used to help convey your message.

What does this mean to you?

Add a circle, it means more.

Add a few more icons it means way more.

TIP 5: USE WHITE

White space is good for the brain.

White space is good for your brain. Leaving room around your data will

allow it be understood easier.

TIP 6: USE CHARTS

Charts are the ultimate in visualizing data.

Charts are the ultimate in visualizing data. Choose appropriately!

TIP 7: END SMART

Everything needs to have a clear and concise point.

Everything needs to have a clear and concise point. Followed by an actionable insight.

Include a recommendation for moving forward in every deliverable.
