About 10G SFP+ Modules

Small form-factor pluggable plus (SFP+) is a standardized form factor for fiber optic transceivers and is used indatacom and telecom optical links, offering a smaller footprint and lower power consumption than XFPtransceivers. Initial standard applications focused on 8G Fibre Channel, 10G Ethernet and 10G Fibre Channel,where the electrical interface to the host board is a standardized serial interface called SFI. The applications haveexpanded to include SONET OC-192, SDH STM-64, OTN G.709, CPRI wireless, 16G Fibre Channel, and theemerging 32G Fibre Channel application.

D-Link's 10G SFP+ Module Series

D-Link's 10G small form-factor pluggable plus Module are hot-swappable SFP+ transceivers that plug into SFP+slots on switches and support 10G Ethernet. The D-Link 10GBASE SFP+ Module Series transceivers offer a widevariety of 10G Ethernet connectivity options for data centers, enterprise wiring closets, and service providertransport applications.

10GBASE-SR

D-link 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Module supports a link length of 26m on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface(FDDI)-grade multimode fiber (MMF).Using 2000MHz-km MMF (OM3), up to 300m link lengths are possible.Using 4700MHz-km MMF (OM4), up to 400m link lengths are possible. It is with the SFP+ 20-pin connector toallow hot plug capability. The representative part numbers include DEM-431XT, DEM-431XT-DD (includesDDM (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) function) and DEM-432XT (Singlemode fiber for 10km distancetransmission).

10GBASE-LR

D-link 10GBASE-LR SFP+ Module supports a link length of 10 km on standard single-mode fiber (SMF, G.652).The Interfaces is 1 x LC Duplex Connector 10GBASE-LR. The representative part number is DEM-432XT-DD. Inaddition, there are two speceial 10GBASE-LR SFP+ module of D-link. They are DEM-436XT-BXD and DEM-436XT-BXU. They are bidi SFP+ transceiver module. The former is supports a link length of 20km on multimodefiber while the latter supports a link length of 20km on singlemode fiber. Both of their interface is simplex LCconnector.

10GBASE-ZR

D-link 10GBASE-ZR is a multirate 10GBASE module. It supports link lengths of up to about 80 km on standardsingle-mode fiber. Its interface is duplex LC connector. The product part number is DEM-434XT.

10GBASE-LRM

D-link10GBASE-LRM SFP+ Module supports link lengths of 220m on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface(FDDI) grade multimode fiber (MMF). To make sure that specifications are met over FDDI-grade, OM1 and OM2fibers, the transmitter should be coupled through a mode conditioning patch cord. No mode conditioning patch cordis required for applications over OM3. DEM-435XT and DEM-435XT-DD (with DDM function) are thecorresponding products.

10GBASE-ER

D-link 10GBASE-ER SFP+ Module supports a link length of up to 40 km on standard single-mode fiber (SMF,G.652) which is with duplex LC connector interface. DEM-433XT and DEM-433XT-DD are the 10GBASE-ERproducts.
