Research findings have shown that job satisfaction of local employees in UAE can be increased by providing good compensation system like valid pay, recognition, promotional opportunity, meaningful work and good working environment. These factors have positive relationship with job satisfaction in the UAE. OBJECTIVE
• To examine and define key factors in the UAE affecting:
1. Motivation
2. Job satisfaction

• Structured questionnaire survey methodology and primary source of data collection
• First part of the survey (questionnaire) explored few main aspects of employee job satisfaction and was ranging from “very low” to “very high”
• In the second part of the survey instrument, a single question regarding employee’s overall evaluation of personal value is asked.

• Total 342 participants were involved in this study during 2013 – 2014

• The survey also confirms that a large proportion of the Emirati population in the UAE is driven by non-monetary benefits (based on the “Top of Mind” responses)
• Intrinsic rewards like recognition, growth, feedback, opportunities lead employees more towards high job performance and motivation than extrinsic rewards like salary

Feeling of beings in the things
Meaningful work and full appreciation of work done is considered more valued factors than the rewards to employees. Job satisfaction cannot be separate from demand of meaningful work as this factor includes sense of achievement and feelings of accomplishment of some task.
Pay and good wages are considered as one of the most important elements for the employee satisfaction.
Feeling of beings in the things and recognition is considered the most important factor among non-financial rewards in order to increase job satisfaction level of employees Through recognition, employees are being realized that they are valuable for organization and employees feel appreciated through recognition.

• Companies need to ensure that employees are given enough opportunities to develop themselves and their careers
• This could be by giving them training, offering tools to develop and promotions
