What are their motives for colonization

They wanted gold but didn’t find any , they also wanted to spread their religion, and to get fish and furs too.

What effects did French colonization have

Their forts became some major cities in America like modern day Detroit, St Louis, and New Orleans. They also converted some Indians to catholic.

Interesting facts

Did you know that only around 400 French people settled in almost half of America.

Louis Joliet and Jacques Marquette were the first people to sail down the Mississippi.

New France became a colony in 1663.
