How can mini-blogging helpme grow my business?

Social media is all aboutrelationships and collaboration.

Blogging is at the heartof social media success.

Your Blog

A blog gives people a chance to getto know you and your values.

A blog is also an opportunity for peopleto discover how you can help them.

Your blog should be a healthybalance of personal and business.

However, if your only message is:

“Hey you, buy my products or services…”

…then you don’t stand achance in social media.

Because guess what?

Nobody actually wants yourproducts or services.

Hey, Mr. Mortgage Broker?

I don’t want a mortgage…

I want a HOUSE!

Hey, Ms. Financial Advisor?

I don’t want your 8% return…

I want to visit Italy in my RETIREMENT!

Do you see the difference?

Nobody actually wants yourproducts or services…

They want the BENEFITS ofyour products or services.

So talk to people about thethings that they care about.

Share your knowledge.

Share your insight.

Live with the philosophy that “givers get”

But how can you “give” to peoplein a 140 character mini-blog?

Start by explaining the benefits ofreading your full blog using the first

120 characters of your tweet…

And add a link to your blog withthe remaining 20 characters.

But what if my blog link is too long anduses up more than 20 characters?

Simple.

Use a URL shortener like bit.ly

You can turn this…

www.socialmediacoach.ca/Social_Media_Coach/Blog/Entries/2009/9/15_How_can_I_use_Social_Media_to_drive_visitors_to_my_website.html

Into this:

Suddenly your mini-blog can create impact andvalue for potential clients and customers:
