Women In Educational Leadership

Preview:

DESCRIPTION

The professional presence of women in the field of education has traditionally outnumbered male presence, yet the proportionate role in educational leadership does not correlate. Three models; Mediocracy, Discrimination, and Women’s Place have been proposed and examined as the reason for this disparity. Research speculates that the reason may be more complex than these proposed models. The development of transformational leadership styles in female educators has increased their presence in leadership roles, however, additional factors of societal expectations, organizational structures, interpersonal relationships, and individual understandings should be conducted to examine the lack of females in educational leadership roles.
