Jan. 2005 – Dec. 2006Developed research-based information architecture and interactive elements for performance-centered teacher certification tools. Created and presented developer-facing products for application upgrades, including interaction-focused paper and HTML prototypes, navigation schematics, and page flows. Translated usability research into portfolio system improvements resulting in a significant reduction in call-center requests.

Sept. 2006 – May 2007Collaborated with subject matter experts to develop a Section-508 compliant web-based learning system for underground coal mine supervisors. Conducted task and content analysis, designed process models, determined performance objectives and measurements for coal mine safety and leadership systems. Designed and conducted beta-testing plan for system evaluation, including online surveys, phone interviews, contextual inquiry and heuristic evaluations.

Before I was in advertising

I designed and developed online tools for teacher certification

created online safety and leadership courses for coal mine supervisors

and taught 3rd grade.

Interested in my formal education?

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Art History from Seattle University

and a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from George Mason University.

I’m great at

wireframing on the train

it doesn’t mean I like it

understanding the technical realities of complex projects

integrating delight into experiences

setting things on fire
