A Prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that you are truly present in

the Most Blessed Sacrament.

I love you above all things and I desire

to possess You within my soul.

Since I am unable at this moment to

receive You sacramentally,

Come at least spiritually into

my heart.

I embrace You as being already there,

and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separate

from You.

Amen.

A Letter From Father Andy Dear Parishioners,

I hope and pray that you are happy, healthy, and staying safe. This has been a very difficult time for all of us, but hopefully things will get better soon.

I would like to take a moment to share a need I have that some of you heard on Sunday, whether in person or via our live streamed Mass. This has to do with our 2021 Diocesan Services Appeal. The good news is that in our 2020 Appeal, we raised almost $200,000! The bad news is that we missed our goal by almost $50,000. The other good news is that, not only did the Diocese forgive 50% of our shortfall, but they significantly lowered our goal for 2021.

As I shared in my homily this past weekend, this has been a very difficult time for most of us. I truly understand that some of you have been financially impacted during this pandemic, were unable to support our 2020 DSA, and very well might not be able to financially support our 2021 DSA right now. I pray that this changes for you and to those who have been affected in this way, I ask you to pray for our success.

For those of you who do have the means to support the Appeal, I am asking that you prayerfully consider increas-ing your gift from last year by 10%. So, if you gave $100 try to give $110 and if you gave $500, try to give $550. If everyone can do this, I am confident that we will meet our 2021 DSA which is so important in assisting the Dio-cese in doing all the good work they do.

As we prepare to begin our Lenten season, I pray that you prayerfully consider your gift a Lenten sacrifice and to-gether we can meet the goals we are committed to and support those who need us the most. Once again, thank you for your support, both financially and prayerfully. I am truly grateful.

May God bless you and keep you safe.

Father Andy

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ: February 13, 2021

The Diocese of Palm Beach is blessed through the dedicated ministry of her priests. Many of these priests, because of age or infirmity, are no longer able to publicly assist at Mass, yet are nonetheless integral parts of our diocesan family. On February 20th and 21st each parish is invited to sponsor a second collection to support these faithful priests. In addition to supporting them financial-ly, we also ask that you pray for our retired priests during this same weekend.

After years of dedicated ministry to our parishes, many of our retired priests in the diocese continue to serve their faithful through volunteer work and praying for our community. These priests, who have blessed us with their joyful service to the Lord, are valued members of our diocese now and always.

Let us remember the words prayed at a priest’s ordination: “Together with us, may they be faithful stewards of your myster-ies, so that your people may be renewed in the waters of rebirth and nourished from your altar; so that sinners may be reconciled, and the sick raised up. May they be joined with us, Lord, in imploring your mercy for the people entrusted to their care and for all the world.” (Rites of Ordination, 2nd Edition, USSCB).

Your support of our retired priests through your prayers and generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for allowing them to continue to be faithful stewards of God’s mysteries.

With gratitude for your continued generosity and every prayerful wish, I am

Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito Bishop of Palm Beach

Gathering Hymn: Worship Fourth Edition #978

1. O Christ, the healer, we have come To pray for health, to plead for friends. How can we fail to be restored, When reached by love that never ends? 2. From ev'ry ailment flesh endures Our bodies clamor to be freed; Yet in our hearts we would confess That wholeness is our deepest need. 3. How strong, O Lord, are our desires, How weak our knowledge of ourselves! Release in us those healing truths Unconscious pride resists or shelves. 4. In conflicts that destroy our health We recognize the world's disease; Our common life declares our ills: Is there no cure, O Christ, for these? 5. Grant that we all, made one in faith, In your community may find The wholeness that, enriching us, Shall reach the whole of humankind. Text: Fred Pratt Green, 1903-2000, © 1969, Hope Publishing Co.

Psalm Response: I turn to you, Lord, in time of trouble, and you fill me with the joy of salvation. Presentation Song: Worship Fourth Edition #650 1. Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. 2. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! 3. The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures. 4. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. 5. When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we'd first begun. Text: St. 1-4, John Newton, 1725-1807; st. 5, attr. to John Rees, fl. 1859

Communion Song: Worship Fourth Edition #951 1. All who hunger, gather gladly; holy manna is our bread. Come from wilderness and wand'ring. Here, in truth, we will be fed. You that yearn for days of fullness, all around us is our food.

Refrain: Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good. (2x) 2. All who hunger, never strangers, seeker, be a welcome

guest. Come from restlessness and roaming. Here, in joy, we keep the feast.

We that once were lost and scattered in communion's love have stood. Refrain

All who hunger, sing together; Jesus Christ is living bread. Come from loneliness and longing. Here, in peace, we have been led. Blest

are those who from this table live their lives in gratitude. Refrain Text: Sylvia G. Dunstan, 1955-1993, © 1991, GIA Publications, Inc. Tune: Bob Moore, b. 1962, © 1993, GIA Publications, Inc.

Communion Hymn: Worship Fourth Edition #980 1. Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on let me stand, I am tired I am weak, I am worn. Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light. Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. 2. When my way grows drear, Precious Lord, linger near, When my life is almost gone, Hear my cry, hear my call, Hold my hand lest I fall, Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. 3. When the darkness appears And the night draws near, And the day is past and gone, At the river I stand, Guide my feet, hold my hand. Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. Text: Thomas A. Dorsey, 1899-1993, Tune: PRECIOUS LORD, George N. Allen, 1812-1877; adapt. by Thomas A. Dorsey, 1899, 1993; arr. by Kelly Dobbs-Mickus, b. 1966 © 1938 (renewed), Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp.

Concluding Hymn: Worship Third Edition #413 1. Alleluia, song of gladness, voice of joy that cannot die; Alleluia is the anthem ever dear to choirs on high; In the house of God abiding thus they sing eternally. Alleluia, now resounding, true Jerusalem and free. 2. Alleluia, joyful mother, all your children sing with glee; But by Babylon’s sad waters mourning exiles now are we. Alleluia we deserve not here to chant forevermore, Alleluia our transgressions make us for a while give o’er. 3. For the holy time is coming bidding us our sins deplore. There-fore in our hymns we now pray, grant us, blessed Trinity, At the last to keep you, Easter, in our home beyond the

sky; There to you forever singing Alleluia joyfully. Text: Alleluia. dulce carmen; Latin. 11th c.; John M. Neale
