The prayer ministry of our con-gregation is a large network of ministers, staff and laity partner-ing together in response to spe-cific prayer requests. Requests may be made by completing a prayer card located in the pew rack, calling the church office or

sending information to our e-mail prayer group. Information is transmitted via e-mail and later compiled weekly for the Monday Morning Prayer Group.

If you have loved ones serving in the military, please contact the church office so they can be added to this list.

Dean Highland Elementary Beautification Project

We had some very sweet church members who came out to Dean Highland Elementary in Waco to bless us with flowers early on a Sat-urday morning! The planters look fantastic! Our church family is the best! Thank you for being the church out in the community.

Missions

Be the Hands and Feet of Christ

Serving others.

HOW TO MAKE PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Call the church office at 751-0411.

2. Online at www.woodwayfumc.org. Click on the prayer

request box.

3. Fill out a blue tri-fold prayer request card located in each pew back and place it in the offering plate on

Sunday or in the church office.

4. Individuals may give permission to have requests sent

to our prayer chain ministry team.

5. All prayer requests are given to our Monday Morning

Prayer Group.

Continued updates are important to keep the list(s) current. Individuals are removed from the list once they have experi-enced healing, have transitioned to the next life or no further word is received about them by the church office or the Mon-day Morning Prayer Group. We are a praying congregation wanting to do our very best for those needing prayer and we

appreciate your help in assisting us with this.

WFUMC Golf League has ENDED until Spring

We had a great year for the Golf League and are thrilled that so many folks joined us to play. Thanks to everyone for your sup-port and for encouraging friends, new members and church visitors to join us.

For years, the Golf League has been a unique ministry in the life of Woodway First United Methodist Church. We have been so proud to see so many of the golfers simply ask people they meet, “do you have a church home?” and next thing you know, they were at the course playing with us! As we end this season, we encourage you to continue to think about those who need Christ and the warmth and care of our church family and simply ask them to join us. Until spring, Mark and Terri McKee

Something To Consider: Christian Fellowship People put on a brave smile and say "I'm fine, thank you and their heart is breaking. The sad thing is we need never be alone, whether we are in a nursing home with no family around or if we ache because no one included us. There is One who has said" I will never leave you or forsake you. I will be with you even until the end of time." That doesn't mean we will never be physically alone, but that is a different type of lonely. That doesn't mean we'll never hurt again, but it does mean someone will be there to comfort us. The Christian life is meant to be lived in Christian fellowship, sharing our thoughts and our innermost feelings with those with whom we have a common bond of love and unity--the tie of shared love of Jesus Christ. When we have that kind of fellowship, we are never alone. The above excerpt is a great description of what Stephen Min-istry is all about. We are there to share in fellowship with those who are going through hard times. We are there for short term or for long term depending on the problem or prob-lems being faced. We are Christian, we listen, care, give no judgments. Everything said is confidential. Please consider asking for a Stephen Minister when you are "fine". *Excerpts from The Promise of Hope by William Kinnaird
