The J . K. L • &. •. Mo l y b d e n i t e p r o p e r t y , 17 m i l e s n o r t h o f T e r r a c e has been examined by many companies i n c l u d i n g Amax. T h i s i n i t s e l f does not negate the p r o p e r t y e n t i r e l y , but i n any case, no o p i n i o n c o u l d be formed u n t i l the p r o p e r t y i s f r e e of snow. I f i t i s a v a i l a b l e at t h a t time, i t would p r o b a b l y be worth a v i s i t .
The A l v i j a M-Cj's sound m i l d l y i n t e r e s t i n q but the secondary copper c o n t e n t f'bfTns a l a r g e p o r t i o n o f the t o t a l copper, and I would t h i n k t h a t primary grades i n g e n e r a l a r e q u i t e low c o n s i d e r i n g the 2 0 - f o o t w i d t h . The p r o p e r t y c o u l d be v i s i t e d a t the same time as t he J.K.L. &- 0.

YUKON TERRITORY
1) The U n i t e d G e o p h y s i c a l Company was a d v i s e d of our d e c i s i o n t o do g r a v i t y work on the "BC" group a t Swim Lakes i n e a r l y F e b r u a r y . U n i t e d agreed t o make t h e i r base o p e r a t o r a v a i l a b l e a t t h a t time and s a i d they would d i s c u s s the conduct of the s u r v e y w i t h t h e i r g r a v i t y e x p e r t i n C a l i f o r n i a . We a r e a w a i t i n g the r e s u l t s o f t h i s d e c i s i o n .
2) B o y l e s B r o t h e r s were a d v i s e d t h a t we would do 2,000 f e e t o f diamond d r i l l i n g on the "BC" group s t a r t i n g sometime i n F e b r u a r y . They were asked to p r o v i d e a q u o t a t i o n f o r t h i s work on t h e b a s i s t h a t they would use one d r i l l and run the camp.
3) SWIM LAKES "A" GROUP:
An i n t e r p r e t a t i o n o f the Swim Lakes main anomaly s t r u c t u r e was made u s i n g the diamond d r i l l c r o s s s e c t i o n s p r o v i d e d by T o r o n t o . In a d d i t i o n , the t o t a l tonnage of Q% combined l e a d - z i n c was e s t i m a t e d .

Attached are the following:
1) a short report by Gabriel Helday concerning his l i t t l e company's 39-clalm J.K.L. t 0. molybdenite property 17 miles north of Terrace.
2) a short report by Helday concerning his company's 18-claim A l v l j a copper property 20 miles northeast of Terrace, with several sheets attached.
3) a k miles a 1 Inch map showing the location of the above two groups and of two others (one recently optioned by Sil v e r Standard and one recently optioned by Cree Lake Mines from, I think, prospector Ken Mayner.
You may r e c a l l that a 1965 Helday Syndicate made a molybdenite find In the Nass River region. Well that Is the same Gabriel Helday and that f i n d , he t e l l s me, Is presently being d r i l l e d by Hadsen Red Lake, the senior participant In that syndicate.
Early t h i s year Helday formed another syndicate composed of Union Carbide, Columbia Cellulose, Bralorne Pioneer, and U.S. Smelting, Mining and Refining. He obtained the k properties shown on the attached k mile map for that syndicate, a l l of them options from l o c a l prospectors I think. The syndicate however l e t them a l l lapse by mid-summer, at which time the syndicate I t s e l f was terminated.
Since then S i l v e r Standard has optioned the northern-most group (I think they have been mentioning that acquisition recently in the George Cross Newsletter), and a small o u t f i t called Cree Lake Mines has optioned the southernmost group. Helday, who put In quite a b i t of time on the other two and who didn't think the syndicate had given them a good f a i r look, picked those two up and put them Into his l i t t l e holding company, and that's where they s i t at the moment. Helday phoned me up and then came In to see whether we would be Interested In one or both of them. Helday would be w i l l i n g to make any reasonable deal.
I should say that I f i r s t met Helday In Chile. He went down there o r i g i n a l l y as a prospector-scout for a small group Including Joe Rankin. They found him very d i f f i c u l t to control expense-wise. It was a couple of years ago, when things slowed down in Chi l e , that he came back to Canada, and found his way up to northern B.C. with syndicate-sponsorship. He's Inclined to l i v e a l i t t l e by his wits and presently Is getting f i n a n c i a l backing from o i l people In Calgary.

I told him that t would want to bring both properties to your attention and that If you thought we should maintain some Interest In them we would want to v i s i t them next spring or early summer before we would be able to form any accurate opinion of them. The thought that James of Bralorne would be a party to l e t t i n g them go makes me fee l doubtful of their worth. Perhaps he would f e e l able to comment on them to you.

Helday mentioned that in G.S.C. Memoir 329 on page h$ the copper property i s described as the Lucky Jim, and the moly property as Nicholson Creek Mines.
