Ahoy my jolly fold! BRRRRRRR!! ‘Tis time again to huddle and cuddle, mull a spirituous grog, and stoke the hearth and meerschaum. As we begin this season of gratitude and giving, may it please all ye merry gentle-sailors to suffer my ever-expanding esteem and amity of your sole and collective bodacious personhood(s). Now on to the sport ... It seems just yesterday we joyfully welcomed return to our blusterous sopping sanctum several of our heat-and-stock-still-adverse mates, who wasted no time to get satiated (see Buccaneer Night details below), and GUSTED (see RR3 feature), and amply quenched (per Margartaville 2019 report). Alas, in full disregard of my campaign item #29 requiring supreme accolade to Your Commodore in all sporting events, our newest immigrant (and fully-paid member) Sir Barron took the grandest of trophies IN BLOODY HELL ABSENTIA! (Read on). A fitting and cookie-crumbling stroke of fortune to a fine sailor indeed. Such exhilaration shall surely wax this new month as we join together to celebrate the fine substance of our sporting, devoted, and merry clique. Until then, I hoist my frothed mug (yes, it’s Tuesday morning) to wish you fresh breezes in daylight and red skies at night! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

November Buccaneer’s Night Review“VKI Japanese SteakHouse”/ Villages
Entertaining … & … Great Food!11 / 7 / 2019
Ocala Sailing Club Members and guests had a blast at the November Buccaneer evening at the VKI Japanese Steakhouse.
We were seated around hibachi tables and entertained by the talents of the professional hibachi chefs as they prepared our meals.
It seems as though everyone enjoyed their delicious dinners and of course the company of our fellow sailing enthusiasts. (Report by Bob Hay)

If you haven’t sailed in the Rum Races you are really missing out !
The skippers fee is $5 and crewing is free and that is for the entire fall season.
In case you didn’t know .… The $5 lets the Skippers draw on the the big bottle raffle ! And again! This fall, First, Second & Third Place boats also got Rum Trophies. ⚓
This fall we had some really windy weather competitions which made it quite adventuresome. We planned the last Rum Race of the season to coincide with our annual Margartaville Party for giving out the awards at the event.
The Last Fall Rum Race 2019 ( Race #3 and Awards was on Saturday Nov 9th )

The 2019 Fall Rum Race winnersThe winds were strong for this 3rd Rum Race event with only five sailboats sailing. Two sailboats dropped out after the first race. There were three runs completed which were fast races due to the frisky winds. So there was plenty of time to pull boats out of the water and dovetail with our Margartaville Party. Lynn did her math and was able to give us our scoring results at the potluck dinner meeting. (See Page 19 for the chart of results)
Third Place for the fall Series:Bob Cole & Crew Jan Cole
Second Place for the fall Series:Bob Hay sailing solo
First Place for the fall Series:Ed Sims & crew Herb Moore
Winner of the Big Bottle of Rum raffle Keith Barron (not present, but will still get the bottle)
