SERVICEIt didn’t matter that
they didn’t speak the language, the kids from both cultures were able
to get to know each other and communicate.
Serving others always gets the right message
across, whether you are teaching new skills or
building a chicken coop.
GamesOur kids were impressed that the school children
treated them like they had known them all
their lives. They were also struck by how
happy they were despite having very little
to their name. Smiles and laughter always
bridge the culture gaps.
a country full of
surprisesWe were delighted to watch and participate
in cultural dances, meander the streets
the Inca’s built and immerse ourselves in
an ancient culture.
NEW PERSPECTIVE
We definitely took advantage of the opportunity to discover
life through different eyes.
NEW FOOD
A NEW EXPERIENCE
Nothing brings people together faster than a banquet of fried cuye,
alpaca steaks, choclo, rice and yucca. And for dessert: good old
fashioned gelatine. Yum.
FUN ANDEXPLORATION
A HIDDEN GEM: THE WATERFALL
Enjoying the journey and the rewards: the climb was strenuous, but interesting,
the waterfall cool and refreshing.
EXPLORING CUSCOOn the trek to Machu Picchu, we got to wander through other remnants
of the old Inca Empire. We also visited a llama farm and a private animal rescue sanctuary. Don’t forget about shopping!
ONE OF THE GREAT WONDERS OF THE WORLD
The sacred city of Machu Picchu, a lasting feat of
human foresight, ingenuity and hard work.
