2018 Annual ICA Conference Prospectus
Letter from President Tessa Price
Dear Potential ICA Sponsor,
The Idaho Counseling Association (ICA) is entering the 56th year of supporting, educating, and
advocating for counselors and human development professionals working in education, healthcare,
residential treatment, private practice, community agency, government and business/industry
settings. ICA offers many benefits for counselors and other human development professionals,
including professional development opportunities, networking community, and access to extensive
resources.
The annual ICA conference draws approximately 450 professionals together for continuing
education, building relationships, and advocacy opportunities. The conference begins with two days
of educational opportunities on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by two days of full conference
activities including a dynamic keynote speaker and interest sessions. During the Friday and
Saturday plenary sessions, our nationally renowned keynote speaker will highlight the issues
impacting the counseling and human development field.
The theme for our upcoming conference in January 2018 is Equality: Advocating for the Client;
Advocating for the Profession to reflect the evolving societal landscape at both the national and state
level. The annual needs assessment survey allows ICA to steer the conference to meet the needs
of counselor and human development professionals in Idaho. Current social issues include violence
and discrimination targeting marginalized communities. These events emphasize the importance of
inclusivity, equality, and advocacy towards positive change for clients and the counseling
profession. The ICA 2018 Conference is a platform to increase awareness, knowledge, skills, and
advocacy in working towards equality and helping professionals advocate for their clients and their
profession.
The conference offers an excellent opportunity to make impressions and connections among the
counseling and human development community in Idaho and beyond. We look forward to your
partnership in supporting the visibility, professional development, and growth of the counseling
profession.
Sincerely,
Equality
Tessa Price, LCPC

Sponsorship Value
Increase brand awareness, build business development leads, and expand professional referral network
Why should your company sponsor the ICA convention? 1. Key Audience
The ICA Annual Conference is the largest professional development event for mental health professionals in the state of Idaho. ICA plans to continue active recruitment and education to rapidly expand the network with both new and experienced professionals.
2. Marketing Outreach Over 400 attendees are expected from state and national locations
Post-card direct mailer and color brochure to licensed counseling and social work professionals – close to 4000 professionals will be included
Outreach to seven specialty counseling divisions
Strategic outreach to four Idaho Masters in Counseling programs and three online masters programs
Monthly e-mail blasts outline through October and intensive pre-conference ramp up with emails sent weekly in December 2017 and January 2018
3. Business Development Leads ICA attendees provide business development leads and an expanded referral network: mental health professionals attend from academic, community agencies, health plan, and private practice as well as other diverse sources.
4. Counseling Professional Parity and Professionalism ICA looks to further the professional development and networking opportunities of mental health professionals. In doing so, ICA promotes mental health counseling as a key component of continued client care. Your sponsorship endorses this goal and links your business to the mental health counseling profession.
5. Unique Business Demonstration You may demonstrate your unique products and services – tell professionals face-to-face how you can help them succeed and help support their business or clinical expertise.
