EVENT INFORMATIONand Registration
McCormick Theological Seminary seeks to provide quality, affordable educational events for the leaders of the whole church. Through the generous support of donors, many of these events are available at no charge or for a nominal fee.
Unless otherwise noted, events are free and held at McCormick Theological Seminary at 5460 S. University Avenue. Parking is available in the McCormick lot, on local streets or at the the University of Chicago Ellis Street parking Garage at 55th and Ellis.

March 14, 5:45pmBeyond the rainbow: Court Theatre’s Community Conversations a laying on of hands: an opening ritual
Court Theatre in cunjunction with McCormick Theology Seminary and the Lutheran School of Theology will break ground before the first preview with “a laying on of hands”: an invocation of healing energy to lead the audience into the viewing experience. Borrowing from the transcendent moment of unification where the women find redemption in each other, the opening ritual will be a chance for viewers to enter the space with a mindset of unity and security.

In the wake of the brutal 1955 lynching of Emmett Till, an entire church was left to grieve. What happens when mourning becomes political and firghting becomes spiritual? 40th & State is an experimental requiem for lost Black life and exploration of the Pentecostal church.
