Repair welding method

Preparation

・ Free from rust, scale residue or any other potential contamination

・Cracks and surface treated layer should be completely removed.

・Remove sufficient stock to repair the crack and insure only sound

materials remains.

・Dress the corners where stock was removed to eliminate any

square corners by rounding to a minimum radius of 3mm.

Welding rod (Filler)

Pre-heating

・ 300 to 400ºC. Heat the mold carefully and gradually.

・Gradual heating in a furnace is recommended. If not, oxygen-

propane or natural gas burner is available.
