My school

My school is the 50th Primary School of Heraklion, Crete and is located at the Mahis Kritis and Yakinthou street. It is also called Talos, in honor of the mythical hero Talo who was a copper giant and protected Crete.

It is an old, two-storey building with 24 classrooms with two hundred and two pupils, the Headmaster’s office, the teacher’s office, the show room, the drama play room, the lending library, the music teaching room and the computer room. There is also a small canteen which supplies us with healthy snacks.

There are 3 schoolyards outside. The front and the eastern yard are the most beautiful . There are trees, flowers and bushes there. Boys like most the back yard, because there’s a football corner and a small basketball court, so they can play. There’s also a roof yard, but I don’t like it at all.

I would say that my school isn’t a nice building but I like it very much because I have a good time there and I feel it like my second home.

I would also like if it had a gym, a swimming pool and more sport activities generally.

The school through the eyes (heart) of children

What I see through the window of my classroom Through the window of my classroom I see the shopping centre TALOS PLAZZA and the road which is full of cars and signs. There are many rubbish bins and some stone benches for kids at the end of the road. I notice the kinder garden pupils, as they finish their lessons and come back home. Traffic policemen give parking tickets to those who park on the coastal road. Next to the parking area, there’s a two-storey, stone-built cafeteria and some expensive cars around it. I notice the different colors of the sea, dispending on the weather and the different seasons. Seagulls fly high to the sky and then dive deep to the sea. Konstantina

What I see through the window of my classroom I am a pupil of C class, of the 50th Primary School of Heraklion. Our classroom is in the north side of the building. Through the window of my classroom, I see birds, the sea and some other classrooms. When I look at the sea various thoughts go through my mind, I relax and sometimes I think that I go on a sail. I like my school. I think that it is located in the most beautiful place because we have got a sea view.

My favorite corner in school My favorite place is the front schoolyard, in the east side of the school. There are many trees, bushes, flowers around and two yard gates, as well. My friends and I use to play games there, e.g. Hide-and-seek and tag. When I am there, I feel very close to nature, calm and relaxed. I wish we had also had a small zoo there. Thanos
