5K Run and 1K Youth Run
April 12, 2014 Youth Run – 2:30pm / 5k Run – 3:00pm
EVENT Kenwood Elementary in Champaign, IL is proud to host the Kenwood Cares 5K Race on April 12, 2014. Kenwood is a public school that serves close to 400 students from Kindergarten to Fifth grade. This school year, we tragically lost one of our First grade teachers, Paula Hyde Gaddis, at the age of 34. Paula grew up in Tolono, IL and would have loved to run for a good cause. She leaves behind a loving husband and four wonderful children. This year, our Race proceeds will benefit her family and recognize Paula’s love for running. COURSE The 5K Race will start at Kenwood Elementary, take runners through and around Centennial Park and end back at Kenwood Elementary. The 5K will be a timed race. The 1K will take place on Kenwood Elementary School grounds, located at 1001 S. Stratford Drive in Champaign.
5K REGISTRATION Online registration is available through the race website at: www.kenwoodcares5k.weebly.com and will be $25. A free t-‐shirt is included if you are registered before March 28. Online registration closes at midnight on April 11. Day of registration is also available for $30, pending available spots. Please check the website for more information. Early race packet pick-‐up (and registration) will be on April 11 at Kenwood Elementary from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Race day registration and check-‐in will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kenwood Elementary.
1K REGISTRATION Registration is free and a t-‐shirt is available for purchase. Please note: Adult supervision is mandatory. Please fill out the form below to sign up your child(ren).
