Things to Consider While Planning for High School
The 4X4, 26-credit graduation program means 4-year planning is more important that ever before
State testing remediation classes come before program elective credits.
Have a “back-up” plan for full classes, alternate selections are more important.

every class you take is important! every CREDIT COUNTS! although you may be promoted to 10th
grade, you will still have to earn EVERY credit required BEFORE you are eligible for graduation.

Awarding Credit
• In EOC courses in middle and high school, credit is awarded at the end of the year:– Average of 3 six-week or 2 nine-week grading
periods = 75% of grade– Semester exam = 10% of grade– EOC test = 15% of grade*
• *Credit will be marked “pending” until EOC scores are received.
• TEA will send scores to school districts in June—specific date TBA.
Recommended Graduation Program
Graduation Program Requirements (Default program for all NISD students; required
by all 4-year colleges in Texas) Must take all 12 EOC tests. Must meet cumulative score requirements in each of
the four core subject areas. Must achieve Level II Satisfactory Academic
Performance on the Algebra II and English III EOC tests.
