SYRACUSE, NY – Former Herkimer Generals men’s soccer player Korab Syla was named

offensive MVP for the Central New York Classic Tournament this past weekend after recording

four points in two games for the Orange.

Syla, a midfielder, recorded a goal and assist in a 4-1 win over UC-Riverdale, then tallied

the game-winning assist against Rutgers for the 2-1 come from behind victory.

Joining Syla with assists over the weekend was 2015 Region III Male Athlete of the Year

and former General Ben Polk (Banbury, UK). Polk registered assists in the game against UC-

Riverdale, on the team’s first and last goals in the 4-1 win. It was Polk’s debut in orange.

“Our Herkimer soccer family is proud of both players,” said Herkimer Generals Head

Coach Pepe Aragon.
