Abba Father
• And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are
possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet
not what I will, but what you will.” Mark 14:36
• Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not
yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my
brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my
Father and your Father, to my God and your
God.’" John 20:7
Abba means Daddy
• The word Abba is an Aramaic word that would
most closely be translated as “Daddy.” It was a
common term that young children would use to
address their fathers.
Abba Father
• And because you are sons, God has sent the
Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba!
Father!” Galatians 4:6
• For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall
back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of
adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba!
Father!” Romans 8:15

➤ Exodus 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a
year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats,

➤ Exodus 12:8 They shall eat the flesh that night, roasted on the

So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in
order to sanctify the people through his own
blood.
Hebrews 13:12
