The Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) iscommitted to enhancing student retention and success byproviding assistance to students through innovative academicsupport services. Full- and part-time students enrolled atMiraCosta College are eligible to use these services free ofcharge.

TASC assists students by providing individual and grouptutoring, supplemental learning assistance, self-help materials,and student success workshops on a variety of subjects.Services are available during day and evening hours at theCommunity Learning Center and Oceanside campuses.

The Math Learning Center (MLC) provides assistance toMiraCosta math students through a variety of services. Servicesare free of charge and include drop-in and appointmenttutoring; help with homework for individuals or groups; self-helpmaterials, such as video lectures; computers to allow studentsto work with online homework systems; textbook and calculatorcheckout (for use only in the MLC at OC/SAN); and make-uptest or quiz services (at OC/SAN). MLC services are availableduring day and evening hours at both the Oceanside and SanElijo campus libraries and morning to early afternoon at theCLC branch. Our friendly and welcoming staff also host pre-term prep workshops, review sessions, provide embedded tutors

Perhaps you areplagued by grammar issues, have trouble with assignedreading, or need to practice a speech or group presentation forclass. The Nordson Science, Technology, Engineering andMathematics (STEM) Learning Center and the STEM LearningCenter at San Elijo provide free comprehensive tutoring forstudents enrolled in chemistry, physics, biology, biotechnology,physical science, computer science, and other sciencecourses. In addition to spaces for drop-in and appointmenttutoring, the centers provide independent and group studyareas, computer equipment and software, reference materialsand textbook resources, as well as equipment includingmicroscopes, slide sets, biology models, and scientificcalculators. Our friendly and welcoming staff also host STEMworkshops and social events, and provide some online tutoring.
