The Across the Rivers Service Committee (ASC) meets the second Sunday of

each month at 1pm. Our current meeting location is at 1043 N Fulton Ave. in

Evansville, IN.

The January 2020 Area Service Committee Meeting opened at 1 pm on January

12th. Janis E opened the meeting with the Serenity Prayer. Eric H read the Twelve

Traditions. John Y read the Twelve Concepts. Dusty J read the Service Prayer.

Janis E then proceeded with roll call.

December 2019 ASC Meeting Minutes:

• Read by Ashley B.

o Motion and second to approve minutes as read, motion passed.

Verbal Reports:

• Web Coordinator: meeting list is updated on website, requested $19.99 for domain name

fee

• Lit Chair: “shits on back order”

• Vice Chair: officially handing over the phone line

• Secretary Asst: reformatted meeting schedules (thank you Bonnie you’re such a blessing)

New Groups/ Group GSRs:

• Changes to existing groups noted in old business

Elections/ Nominations:

• Accepting Nominations for the following positions:

o Secretary (1 yr clean time req.)

▪ Ashley B was nominated to renew her position as Secretary, I checked with

her and she has the willingness

o RCMA (18 mo clean time req.)

o H&I (2 yrs clean time req.)

o Activity (2 yrs clean time req.)

• Women of Purpose nominated Lara W for PR Chair (service resume attached); take back to

groups to vote

• Just for Tuesday nominate Joe G for Web Coodinator (service resume attached); take back

to groups to vote

Old Business:

• PR Bus Advertisements – Mindy is still playing phone tag with the ad people

• Area vote for Owensboro using our phone line # on their bus advertisements

o Passed: 5-yes, 2-no, 6-abstain

o Will contact Owensboro area about helping man the phone line

o There is a need for meeting lists and contact info to be exchanged between areas

o Angel R has the willingness to make a phone list binder with all the above info

• A Step Forward group has become part of RAW, all Henderson meetings are now RAW

• PR – hope to have a motion for the USI day by March Area meeting

New Business:

• Rent: Area storage ($35) plus three committee meetings ($30) totaling $65

• No Regional Donation

• $34 gas reimbursement for RCM

• Primary Purpose will be meeting on Christmas and New Year’s Day

• Area Secretary will be making changes to codes on meeting lists, non-smoking code etc

o If your meeting has an specific format that is either not listed on schedule or has

changed contact Bonnie T and she can make changes accordingly

o Bonnie will send updated schedules to facilities where H&I does not meet

o Thank you so much Bonnie you are God sent

• H&I Policy Change – motion to add to the list of PIs allowed into the facilities (motion

attached) take back to home groups for pros & cons

• VCC Men H&I Chair position is currently vacant, Brentwood will be vacant in April, anyone

interested in holding a position or nominating someone should be present at the next H&I

Subcommittee meeting at 1043 N Fulton on February 9th, 2020 @ noon

• Henderson Co detention center may give our area a black eye because we cannot find

support to keep the meeting going

• A box was donated to Area that needs to be archived though there may be a few items that

can be auctioned

o Included is a complete set of cassette tapes from KRCNA 1 a willing addict is

looking into the process of digitizing them

Announcements:

• The next ASC meeting is scheduled February 9th, 2020 at 1pm.

The January 2020 ASC meeting closed at approximately 2:19 pm with a circle of hugs, followed by

the Serenity Prayer.
