Philosophy
All Children Can LearnAll Children WILL Learn - if given the appropriate environment and instructional methodologyCurriculum must be “rigorous” and “relevant” to the students and the teachersSafe, orderly, friendly and welcoming learning environments create more successful learnersDiscipline issues must be dealt with swiftly and effectively to convey the message that unacceptable behavior and disruptions in the educational process will not be tolerated
What makes successful schools?
Fair and Consistent Administration In dealing with staff, students and parents
High Expectations clearly communicated to all stakeholders that includes EVERY member of the learning community
Quality and meaningful classroom instructionA vision that can be attainedShared mission that all stakeholders can work together to achieveAn open and inviting relationship with the parents and communityA disciplined learning community in which education is valued above everything else
What makes successful schools?Support and maintenance of meaningful relationships Staff relationships
Understanding that we are working together for a common goal“FAMILY BUILDING”
Student relationships Creating a caring and compassionate staff with student success at the
heart of each member Encouraging student team building activities that allow them to create a
network that will benefit them for the remainder of their lives Utilize reward systems to highlight student achievement
Community relationships Make the school a vital part of the community by encouraging staff to be
involved outside of the ‘normal’ school activities and have ownership in the communities the school serves
Allow for meaningful community input in the educational process
What makes successful schools?
Retention of Quality Staff Retaining quality staff is the key to continuous school improvement
Achieved by various methods that can include Teacher Spotlights: Highlighting teachers on a weekly basis that are doing
great things in their classrooms Teacher of the Month Program: Can be determined through a consensus of
faculty council that rewards those teachers who have the admiration and appreciation of their fellow staff members
Team Building: Teachers are encouraged to work together and support each other in work of the school
Employment of Quality Staff Team evaluation of new staff candidates to ensure that all hires be a
good ‘fit’ for the culture of the school Seeking highly qualified staff with a history of successful
instruction for all positions
BOTTOMLINE:People happyin their jobstend to stay!
What makes successful schools?
Clearly defined academic goalsCurriculum closely aligned with academic goalsEarly intervention for academic problemsDiverse methodology that will allow for individualized instruction. We must meet the students where they are, we can’t
expect them to catch us where we are!
Understanding that a diverse student population allows for an opportunity to learn more from each other and not see that as a barrier
What I Will Bring -
As Administrator for your District, I will bring: Goal Driven Leadership Aligned with the School’s Mission Detailed and Personalized Administration
In dealing with both staff and students Clearly Stated Mission High Expectations for Success in ALL AREAS Outgoing and Welcoming Attitude to ALL Stakeholders Good Common Sense Judgment Ability to Work Under Pressure and Make Sound Decisions Willingness to Learn From and Take Ownership in Mistakes Dedication the school and the district
What I Expect -
As an Administrator, I expect: To have a caring and competent staff of professionals To have a facility that is cared for and that the staff takes
ownership and pride in To have a student body that is excited about learning and
teachers excited about teaching To have the support of the teachers, community and other
administrators in the district To maintain a steady and constant growth in educational
achievement
The Three E’s -
To maintain momentum for educational success, I would instill in the staff my own personal mission, above and beyond the school’s mission. The “3 E’s” –
Educate
Every Child
Every Day!
If we can go home daily satisfied that we have educated every child we have come in contact with, we will have made the first step to creating a more successful learning community.
The BOTTOM LINE
We cannot lock learning into the four walls of the classroom or expect the students to just and have information ‘delivered’ to them as schools once did. We must do “WHATEVER – WHEREVER – WHENEVER” to reach and educate our children.
In ClosingI appreciate your time in viewing this and in
considering me for possible employment in your district. I can stand only my word to you that, if
hired, I will give 100% of my abilities. I know the long hours involved in being a productive and
efficient administrator and I would appreciate the challenge and opportunity. If you are interested in interviewing me or meeting with me, please feel
