Abstract How to import a EtherCAT slave device in SYCON.net?

� Problem Description:
User wants to add a new slave device to SYCON.net but he can’t find his device in device list
of SYCON.net.
� Problem Analysis:
Since the new device is not made by Hilscher, the device will not be recognized by default.
User needs to first get the device description file(*.XML) from device vendor then import the
file to SYCON.net.
� Brief Solution:
A. Get the device description file from device vendor, the file should be XML document.
B. Open SYCON.net, click on Network >> Import Device Descriptions
C. Select the “EtherCAT DDF(*.xml)” in the Files of type option, then choose your slave
device to import.
D. Back to the main page, click on Network >> Device Catalog >> Reload Catalog
E. In the right side of main page, click on Vendor icon you’ll see the new venodor and
device in the list.
F. Now, you can add the new slave device to Master device.
