Aero Skills Pavilion – an Overview

• National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the aegis of the Ministry ofSkill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), set up an Aero Skills Pavilion at AeroIndia Show 2019.

• Supported by Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA)and Aerospace and Aviation SectorSkill Council (AASSC)

• Dates: 20th to 24th February 2019

• Location: Hall F, Airforce Station Yelahanka, Bangalore

• Aero Skills Pavilion housed twenty booths, whichsaw participation from companies in Aerospace andAviation domain and related skill training entities.

• Pavilion size: 240 sq.mt.

• Estimated visitors: 10,000+

The Set-Up

• Veative Labs, a partner of NSDC, and a leading provider ofskill development and training solutions using 3D/AR/VR;participated in the event.

• Demonstrated the power of Virtual Reality andAugmented Reality in industry learning and training.

Visitors’ Attraction

• Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. created awareness

about Apprenticeship training, Centre of

Excellence (CoE) on Advanced Machining, scope

of certification programme in Aerospace

Management, scope of Post Graduate Diploma

Program in Aviation Management.

• HAL-IISc Skill development Centre showcased

current and forthcoming courses like Robotics,

Machine Learning, Nanoscience and Engineering.

Walking Robot, Drone, Smart Pole, Welding

Simulator and Cleaning Rat were star attractions

of the stall.

• Attractive displays such as four aircraft models of

Dornier, LCA Tejas, PSLV and LCH were kept for

display at HAL Stall in Skills Pavilion.

• An Aero Skills Seminar 2019,‘Skilling for Creating World-Class Workforce’ was conductedon 23rd Feb 2019 at SeminarHall 2, by NSDC in associationwith AASSC.

• Attended by industry, academiaand skill training agencies.

• An MoU was signed betweenNSDC, Terra Orient, Singaporeand Singapore Polytechnic forsetting up of centres ofexcellence (CoE) in India

• Announced an Aerospace &Aviation skill training facility(coming up soon) in Bangalore

• The Aero Skills Seminar on 23rd Feb, was followed by an ‘Industry Connect Workshop’ anchored by the Indian Air Force.

• Keen response from the student communityand the industry with regards to theirinterests in the Skill training domain in theaerospace & aviation sectors.

• Felicitated first ever contingent in Aviation Maintenance (team of two), currently undergoing training for participation in WorldSkillsInternational Competitions 2019, Russia

• The candidates will be trained at Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore for a month. Training program sponsored by Terra Orient Singapore, supported by NSDC and AASSC.
