Hello Al-Karim Court No. 219,
We are so excited to send our first offi-
cial newsletter! Thanks to our Promo-
tional Directresses for making this a reali-
ty. Now everyone will know the great
works of our Court in the Oasis of
Newnan.
I have truly loved the opportunity to
serve this Court as the Commandress.
Learning and growing from each of you as
we travel the Desert. I know there are
two kinds of daughters; those that make
it happen and those that ask what hap-
pened. Al-Karim Court is filled with the
kinds that make things happen and I ap-
preciate each of you for caring for the
organization you choose to be a member
of.
We have established several departments
and committees that are working hard
for Al-Karim. We have already complet-
ed many hours of community service,
mentoring, and activities for our
court. My wish is for every Daughter
to get involved with at least one
committee or event during the year. I
leave you with this quote “Rise and
shine, my Daughter. Everyone you
meet today is on heaven’s Most
Wanted List.”
Serve willingly at all times from your
heart.
Daughterly Yours with Love,
Dt. Deaidra Wilson

Al-Karim Court No. 219 Community Ser-
vice Teams strive to strengthen, enrich and
enhance the Oasis of Newnan and the sur-
rounding areas through service and volun-
teering. By building collaborations we will
focus on sharing, giving, inspiring, and rais-
ing awareness. Through building stronger,
more efficient and sustainable community
networks, we will place the needs of the
Oasis first.
The Community Service teams are led by
chairpersons (Dt. Kelsey Buchanan and Dt.
Hope Penson) and co-chairs (Dt. Alice
Malcolm and Dt. Jimikea Chatman). We
are continually supported by the entire
court.
Thus far, we have:
Contributed goods to the Five Loaves
and Two Fish food pantry of Griffin,
GA
Participated with C.H.O.I.C.E.S. in
Clayton County to educate children
about healthy living and fitness
Held voters registration drives
Adopted families for Christmas from
the Community Welcome House and
Weaver Garden
Participated in feeding of the commu-
nity with Al-Karim Temple No. 242,
Newnan Lodge No. 299 and spon-
sored by Annie B. Gibbons Assembly

Continue to watch as we leave footprints
in our Oasis, and across the Desert!

Upcoming events include the Relay
for Life benefiting the American Can-
cer Society in April 2012 and various
voters’ registration drives. We are
planning to include all areas of our
Oasis as this is a very important elec-
tion year. Don’t be surprised when
you see us around serving the com-
munity because we are coming to a
city near you!

Al-Karim Court’s Community Ser-
vice Team No.1 has gotten off to
great start for 2012! To kick the
year off, we helped Newnan Chap-
ter No. 483, Order of the Eastern
Star, PHA with their annual Martin
Luther King, Jr. Parade festivities.
The daughters of Al-Karim Court
assisted in areas of judging the float
competition, helping to serve food
to the community, and donating
canned goods for the Food Bank of
Newnan.

We meet the first Friday of every month. We are looking forward to doing
great things in the community. Upcoming events are coming soon.

I am a native of Louisville, Alabama and currently reside in College Park, Georgia.
I have two wonderful daughters that live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and one
son that lives in Marietta, Georgia.
I am an innovative professional with more than 25 years of progressive experience in diverse business environ-
ments. Some of the things I enjoy doing are; reading, traveling, volunteering at the senior citizen community cen-
ter, working in my church and serving on the board of directors for two non-profit organizations. My favorite
sport is basketball, love it!
Being created as a Daughter of Isis in Al-Karim Court No. 219 was a great historical experience for me, one that
I will cherish for a lifetime. I enjoy being a member of Al-Karim Court because it has afforded me the opportuni-
ty to meet and bond with daughters that have come together from diverse occupations and backgrounds. To-
gether we have set a new provocative course to be enhanced year after year. We must continue to face the
challenges that are put before us and rise to the occasion of supporting our court and each other. It is evident
that all things are possible with Faith and Commitment. Al-Karim let us continue to move forward!

I’m originally a Georgia Peach, born in Atlanta, Goergia and I now live in South
Fulton County.
I am now married to a Yankee named Marcus White and we have a 3 year old
daughter (Dasaya White) and an unknown bundle of joy scheduled to make her
debut on August 28, 2012. I travel, travel, travel and sometimes read. I’ve trav-
eled to numerous places throughout the US, Canada, South America, Europe
and the Caribbean. I can’t wait to visit countries in both Africa and Asia.
There is no greater gift than sisterhood. I love being able to socialize and serve with many beautiful and intelli-
gent women. I think Al-Karim Court is composed of a group of women who can change the world.
