Project GoalsProject Goals

Create a list of revisions for the current kindergarten grade card.

Create a binder with assessments for each indicator listed on the revised kindergarten grade card.

Grade Card Revision ProcessGrade Card Revision Process

We decided as a group to delete, edit, and add items to the grade card.

We attended the grade card meeting scheduled by Pat Ross and met with the Progress Book consultant.

Grade Card Revision Outcomes:Grade Card Revision Outcomes:StrengthsStrengthsSince the team consisted of all of the

kindergarten teachers, the revisions reflect the entire grade level.

By working with the Progress Book consultant we were able to know immediately which revisions were achievable and which were not.

Grade Card Revision Outcomes:Grade Card Revision Outcomes:WeaknessesWeaknessesAll revisions were not supported by

all members of the group so compromises had to be made.

The Progress Book consultant was not able to make all of the revisions that we had wanted due to the limited software that the company makes available to her.

Assessment Binders ProcedureAssessment Binders Procedure

The group brought materials and ideas that they currently use to assess each indicator. Then as we discussed each indicator we shared our ideas and materials. We then organized then into binders.

We shared our ideas and resources for each indicator on the revised grade card.

Assessment Binder Outcomes:Assessment Binder Outcomes:StrengthsStrengthsWe were able to learn new ways to

assess our grade card indicators and organize them in a “user-friendly” fashion.

We discussed the total points used when assessing indicators and will be more consistent as a grade level.

Assessment BinderAssessment Binder

Each group member created their own binder. We divided the binder into standards using different colors.

Assessment Binder Outcomes:Assessment Binder Outcomes:WeaknessesWeaknessesThe binder will need to be updated

as new strategies are learned and future grade card revisions are made.

After Hours WorkAfter Hours Work

We used the school as our meeting place so that computers were available to help us complete our projects.

Future GoalsFuture Goals

We hope that our suggestions to Progress Book are used to create new software so that all of our grade card revisions can be made.

We hope that our assessment binders become a valued, time efficient assessment tool that helps to make our assessment strategies more consistent.
