WorkSense W-01 dual arm robot
An intelligent solution for complex tasks
2 3
A seeing, sensing, thinking and working autonomous, dual-arm robot
WorkSense robotics
Features seven-axis dual arms
Hands can handle a wide variety of objects and materials
2
Dual-arm dexterity
Similar to human’s arms – the W-01’s arms work independently, so it can do things easily that single-armed robots could never do. Thanks to the robot’s arm geometry, manifold integrated sensors and acceleration meter, the robot can take care of changing tasks in an almost autonomous way. With 3D image perception, Visual Servo, four head-unit cameras and two arm-mounted cameras, along with the included light source, the robot can sense an object’s position and orientation in 3D. Even if the object’s position changes during the process, there is no need for calibration. This allows the dual-arm robot a high part recognition for a superior task accomplishment.
The robot’s arms are fitted with Epson’s highly sensitive, precision force sensors, and its multipurpose hands can clamp, grasp, tweeze, grip, and push objects of various shapes and forms. It can even handle conventional tools like handheld screwdrivers. This combination enables it to perform delicate tasks that require an intuitive and subtle touch.
The W-01 can:
– Manipulate tools and jigs designed for humans
– Work independently with its highly flexible design featuring seven-axis dual arms and single-axis waist
– Handle payloads of 3 kg with each arm, or 6 kg using both arms
– Grip a wide range of objects thanks to its dexterous hands
– Grasp and clamp objects
Introducing the new WorkSense W-01
Time is money and productivity is value. To keep your business running smoothly, you need a tool that can complete any task effectively, safely and swiftly.
The W-01 will expand the scope of your automated production, and perform tasks that previously defied automation. Unlike fixed industrial robots, the W-01 is good to go. Its unique design means you can wheel it from place to place to perform a multitude of complex tasks.
WorkSense refers to the concept that a robot that can see, sense, think and work. These abilities will greatly benefit market segments – whether you are a manufacturer in electronics, automotive or pharmaceuticals – with small-lot and Just In Time (JIT) production demands.

Smart sensors Accelerate your productivity
High onboard intelligence, durability, extremely accurate sensors, phenomenal dexterity, cost-effectiveness, rigorous safety standards and compliance make the W-01 ideal for production environments where output demand fluctuates from day to day, lifecycles are short, and lines change frequently. The W-01 will transform your productivity. That means you can achieve an ROI quickly and grow your business.
– Compact dimensions; W: 730 mm x D: 1101 mm x H: 1495 to 1795 mm. Weight 200 kg
– Easy to set up and use
– Safe, smart and robust
– No special tools or complicated peripherals required
– High mobility due to caster-equipment
Can handle payloads of
3 kgwith each arm
Machine learning comes as standard, allowing the robot to make its own decisions – fast. Teach it to perform a task, then let it get on with it. Next generation sensors enable ultra-fine control of its seven-axis arms; so it can avoid obstacles independently even in a new location.
The W-01 has best-in-class spatial awareness so it can start work in a new location immediately without being reprogrammed. You can move it to perform a new task seamlessly, as the W-01 flexes to accommodate new production requirements quickly.
