This is a simple technique that can be used as a background or it can be used in altered art to give an aged and weathered wall effect.The next tutorial which will be posted later will show how to turn this into a Faux Salt Glaze background.

Materials used

� Any Substrate of yourchoice.

� Americana Acrylic Paint

� Adirondack® Blendingsolution

� Sponge

� Mini Mister

DistressedWall Effect

A very simple techniqueusing Decoart acrylicpaint to give an ageddistressed wall effect.

1. Choose your acrylic basecolours.The colours used here areAmericana Copper, BurntOrange and Deep Burgundy.

2. Load colours randomly onto aflat brush and cover thesubstrate without over blendingthem.

Try to avoid colours that muddy.

3. Fill a Mini Mister withAdirondack® BlendingSolution,

4. Now choose your top coatcolours, I have used AmericanaTrue Blue and Light Buttermilk.

Repeat step 2.

5. Whilst paint is still wet spraythe surface with theAdirondack® Blending solutionand allow to dry forapproximately 5 minutes.

6. Take a sponge and gently startwiping the surface revealingsome of the colour beneath. Keepdoing this until you get yourdesired effect.
