I NEED to study at The Animation Workshop. I love

to draw and improve. To learn that what I’m doing is

incorrect and then having to pick up the pieces and start

over.

I started off being terrible like everybody else. I

couldn’t convey my thoughts and it frustrated me. But

the better I’ve gotten and the longer time I’ve drawn, the

more I love to improve and to see my progress. I love and

appreciate every single terrible line I put on paper; All

because I was meant to draw.

When I wasn’t admitted to The Animation Workshop

last year I wasn’t crushed. I sort off expected it. I didn’t

really understand what was expected off me and I

certainly wasn’t skilled enough.

So I moved from Copenhagen to Aalborg with my girl-

friend and enrolled at the University to study Medialogy.

I had the talent for that, but my eccentric ideologies and

concepts concerning videogames didn’t match with anyone’s

there. It wasn’t a complete waste of time though. I learned

that I’m willing to take a chance and plunge straight into

change, moving away from family and friends if I see an

opportunity.

Besides that, I’ve spent my time studying and

practicing so that I can be admitted this time. I’ve been

attending croquis sessions, I’ve joined the Aalborg Shake-

speare Society and I’ve been practicing amateur traditional

animation.

My illustrations and style are derived from many sources.

Japanese animation, friends at school, video games from

around the world, my Chinese girlfriend and her family,

comics, the forest around my parents house and my travels

around Europe to The Czech Republic, Italy, England and

Greece.

These past years I’ve matured, improved and changed. But

my dedication to study at The Animation Workshop or later

work in the animation industry, has not dwindled one bit. It’s

where I need to be.
