Box Tops for Education
The PE department is collecting Box Tops for Education. Please turn
them in to your PE/Health teacher.

Columbus DayDon’t forget! There is no school
Monday in observance of Columbus Day.
8th Grade Book Club
Eighth grade Book Club members will meet after school Wednesday, Oct.
11th in Room 225.
Jazz BandJazz Band rehearsals take place each Wednesday at Prairie View from 4:00-
5:00 pm.
October is Bullying Prevention Month
Students who experience bullying report that supportive actions from their peers (such as spending time with the student, talking to
him/her, helping him/her get away, or giving advice) were the most helpful actions from bystanders. Don’t forget to wear orange on
Unity Day, Wednesday, Oct. 25th. Unite together to raise awareness and show support
to students being bullied.

Newspaper Club
The first meeting of the Newspaper Club will be Tuesday, Oct. 10th. We
will meet after school in Room 222.
IntramuralsIntramurals are held each week here at
Grissom. Volleyball intramurals are held on Tuesdays, and Basketball intramurals are held on Thursdays. All intramurals are held from
7:45-8:25 am.
Student SupportBefore and after school
Student Support is offered from 8:00-8:35 am each
morning, and from 3:10-4:05 pm Monday through Thursday.
You must arrive at the beginning of the session and
stay for the whole time!
Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge
Last year Grissom Patriots saved over 6,600 plastic water bottles
from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Please
remember to use these instead of plastic bottles. So far this year, we’ve saved 2,112 bottles from
landfills! Let’s beat last year’s total!
