Acknowledging the role of Glasgow as aEuropean green city and the home to fourinternationally acclaimed universities, the
project will aim at bringing the culturalscene and green pride to the city centre.The city of Glasgow attracts a number oftourists making it the fourth most popu-
lar destination in the UK and one of thetop 10 for international travelling. Thereis, however, a missing link between thevisitor of Glasgow and the resident. For
this reason, the project aims to provide aplace for interaction and sharing of cul-
tural and literary wealth.
_conceptual development
Cities known to be aesthetically successfulare the end product of a ceaseless process of
atomization, crashing, overlapping and pollutionof many diverse ideas imposed on it by successivegenerations, each with its own idea. architecture
in the modern age should abandon its puristabstration and allow itself to be inuenced by
inuxes of historical references

Inspired by the book crossing movementand the peoples oriented movementsof the city, the proposal will fashion a
Peoples library. This space will host thesharing of books and will provide a green
space where to read and write free ofcharge. The visitor will be able to leavebooks behind and take any from it. This
Peoples library will also host for the resi-dent to leave and take books from it, aswell as a place for lingering and cultural
fostering.

The work until now has been focussedon the analysis of city as a result of theprocesses of collage. Aesthetically suc-cessful urban areas are a result of the
superimposition, collision, fragmentation
and contamination of architectural enti-ties and styles. A peoples library will fol-low this principle programmatically bring-ing together separate users with distinct
contributions for the developing of thetypology.
