“I graduated from University of Texas and always wanted to come back so my husband and I moved to Austin in 1985. Having both grown up on the water in the Clear Lake area south of Houston; we wanted our kids to have the same experiences. We grew up sailing and water skiing so we decided to move to Lakeway in 1990 when our twin boys were only 4 years old. We were drawn to Lakeway because of the golf, tennis, swimming, and other outdoor activities,” she says.
Prior to her association with Keller Williams, she was involved in Commercial Real Estate in Houston. She subsequently owned and operated her own temporary staffing business that she has since sold yet remained active in real estate during this time period.
Mary has been very involved in her community, once a mentor with Lake Travis ISD, active in the Lake Travis Youth Association and board member of Lake Travis Education Foundation.
“I do believe in giving back to the community that you live in. It is especially important to be involved with the same activities that your kids are involved in as they are growing up like school events, athletics, fundraisers and sport activities. Our kids went to kindergarten in Lakeway and are now out of college and on their own but I still feel this is my community,” she says. “I live and work here and have watched it grow from a predominantly retirement community with one elementary school to a thriving, growing area with families and children.”
When she’s not hard at work with her real estate career, Mary and her family love to spend time by the water or in the mountains.
“For fun we love to wakeboard, wakesurf, play tennis, golf and snow ski. We love to go downtown and try new restaurants. Our sons live in Houston and San Marcos so we love to visit and experience the small and big town feel and the outdoor activities in those areas. It’s the best of both worlds!”
