Title: To edit and up level an existing autobiographySC: I can identify effective features

of an autobiography. I can skim and scan, looking for

errors in an existing text. I can correct mistakes in a text,

improving the quality of existing writing making sure it fulfils a checklist’s expectations.

Explain to Carla why this fixed mind set idea is unhelpful and which of our habits could help her improve her writing through editing.

Today, the students will be marking the teacher’s work!As we did earlier in the week, select your own level of challenge. There are three teacher written autobiography texts that have not been edited for errors. Select one, highlight the errors then correct/ up level them. Look for basic spelling/ punctuation errors as well as times when the writing might not meet the features checklist e.g. writing in the 3rd person. Have a quick recap of autobiography features on the next two slides first.
