● 8th Grade Privilege ● Go to website for Permission Form● Give to Homeroom Teacher (Mrs.

Ciccoianni / Mrs. Moore) 1 week in advance for an excused absence

● Allowed 3 Shadow Days at 3 separate high schools

Big Ideas Math Program

Parent info night: Sept 12th; 7-8 pm Duffy● Grade level and advanced (6-8)

○ Placement determined using a variety of data● Assignments are done online

○ Students must still show their work Instant feedback on answers

● No need to purchase a book

SPANISH

● Twice a week for 50 minutes.● Immerses students in authentic Spanish language

6th Grade Literature

Autobiography- Writing done in class. - Editing/finishing will be done at home- Publishing final copy done at home (e.g. Shutterfly)- Artwork done at home

- All STUDENTS research a project- Broken down into several small assignments- Assignments start in class - Some need to be finished or edited at home.- Present in class- Top students move on to complete project

Parent Meeting: Thurs. Sept. 6th from 7-8pm in Duffy- Camp Location: Running Springs, CA- Dates: Monday Nov. 12th - Friday Nov. 16th- Registration forms handed out in class- Registration Forms AND $100 deposit due Sept 21st- Remaining Balance due Tuesday, Oct 16th
