THE EARLY BEGINNINGS

How Everything Started …

• Jean Vandewalle, a Chemical Engineer founded

BIC Systems NV (BIC BE) in 1972.

• The initial systems:

Moving grate incinerator for Municipal Waste Incineration.

Rotary kiln systems for silver recovery

• The business eventually expanded into other areas:

Medical Waste

Hazardous Waste Incineration.

• Also operated and maintained a 10 TPD incinerator for Medical Waste &

Hazardous Waste in Mouscron, Belgium for more than 10 years.

• Customer base grew, starting from Europe to Eastern Europe, Middle East

and now to Asia.

WET SCRUBBING SYSTEM

Key differences between a Dry and a Wet Scrubbing system:

a. The Wet Scrubber can treat the Chlorine in waste up to 30%, whereas

the Dry Scrubber can only treat Chlorine in the waste up to 2%.

b. The Wet Scrubber can cool the flue gas to 200°C directly. The Dry

Scrubber requires a Cooling system to achieve the same.

c. The Wet Scrubber requires ancillary systems e.g. water treatment plant.
