Character Traits Task

• Using the Character Traits from your list, you are to choose 25 different traits. With those traits, you will make a sentence with each and apply it to someone you know. YOU MUST JUSTIFY/EXPLAIN WHY!!!– Example: My mother is a very healthy person.

Character Types.

•READ YOUR A.R. BOOK

Dynamic Character• A character who changes during

the narrative. He/she comes to a major realization and sees the world from a different perspective.

Static Character• A character who remains “the

same” throughout the narrative . . . he/she does not develop or change from the beginning of the story. The actual “character” seems stagnant or stable.

Round Character

• A character who encounters conflict and is somehow changed by it. He/she seems like people we know or may like to meet. We learn many aspects or sides of his/her personality through the choices that are made during the narrative.

Flat Character • A character who holds a minor part

in the narrative. He/she does not undergo any substantial change or growth in the course of the story. The flat character should support a major character . . . usually the round or dynamic character.

• Get out:– Two sheets of notebook paper– Notes over Character Types– A.R. Book

• On the first sheet of notebook paper, number 1-10 . . . Skip lines

• On the second sheet of notebook paper, write “The Gold Cadillac” at the top of your page.

• When you’re finished, read you’re A.R. book.

• Identify each Character Type in “The Gold Cadillac,” and justify your reasoning why.–Ex: I think ________ is the

Dynamic Character in “The Gold Cadillac” because …
