Session Objective

What will you learn today?1. What are Business Process Flows?2. Where can I use Business Process Flows?3. What values do BPF bring to an organizations

What’s a Business Process Flow?

• Visual Guide to help users walk through a process• Processes could be just Sales process• Can also be quick tasks to complete an action

Types of BPF

Business Process Flows (Classic)• Guide users through single

process• Embedded on records

• Available in Classic, UCI, and Mobile

Task Flow• Guide users through task or set

of tasks• Run from anywhere in the

system

• Only available in UCI and Mobile

Business Process Flow

• Can span multiple entities• i.e. Opportunity to Quote, to Order, to Invoice

• Multiple process flows per Entity/record• Associated via Security Roles

BPF vs Playbook

BPF PlaybookPrimary usage

• Business process flows is used to provide a streamlined experience for data entry and controlling entry into stages with minimal automation

• Playbooks empowers users to automate a set of repeatable sales activities based on an external event

Configuration/Authoring

• BPF needs to be configured against each Entity and same BPF can't be leveraged across Entities.

• Creation :- need to take dependency on Admin to help configure a BPF

• Same Playbook can be applied to Multiple Entity TypesE.g. In Scenario like Contract renewals, Playbooks can b configured to be launched in a context of both account opportunity

• Creation :- Sales Manager will be equipped to create\Update a Playbook.

Runtime Experience

• BPF is represented as a set of stages and steps that are displayed in a control at the top of the form

• Execution Mode – Sequential. Any entities/activities is sequential and based on the stage of the BPF

• Multiple BPF's can be configured for an entity, but only 1 can be active and shown on the top of the form

• Traceability - BPF can be configured against at max 5 entities. Hence at max 4 traceable activities can be created

• Any type of entity (OOB/Custom/Activity) can be created

• Playbook activities are shown in the activity timeline on the instance that is linked to the calling record

• Once a Playbook is launched, all the activities are create

• Multiple Playbooks can be launched and viewed for an entity

• No restriction on # of activities that can be configured f Playbook. All the activities created by Playbook are traceable

• For now only 3 Activities will be supported - Task, PhoneCall, Appointment. Support for other activity type to be added in the future.

Rating/ Feedback

• No feature available for BPF's to capture ratings/feedback

• Playbooks to support capturing rating/feedbacks in subsequent releases.

• Average rating will be shown to the user while launchin Playbooks

• Ratings/Feedback to help Sales Manager to measure success of Playbooks and use for continuous updates as well

Task Flow

• Task based operation that users create. • Simplified screens for task or updating a record• Can create records
