COMPTON TRADI-TIONAL BOWHUNTERS

DESSERTS NEEDED! Desserts are needed to supplement the Saturday night Roast Beef Dinner at the Compton Rendezvous on June18. Please contact Margo Howley at 269-313-0523 and let Margo know you can help with your best dessert(s).
COMPTON PREPARATIONS One attraction of the Compton Tradi-tional Rendezvous is the excellently prepared trails throughout our four 3D archery courses. Dan Jennings is ask-ing for our help again this year in clear-ing downed limbs, spreading fresh wood chips and splitting wood in antici-pation of this major Club event. Please call Dan at 429-4656 and tell him you
can help.
UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME YOUNG
REPUBLICANS SHOOT UP BERRIEN
COUNTY SPORTSMAN’S CLUB On March 19, BCSC hosted an outing for the Young Republicans Club from the
University of Notre Dame. Thirty-six young men and women attended a day of shooting trap at our club. In all, we threw 1650 targets during the day. The day was a total success for the young people involved. There were more smiles than you could count. We were all fed a wonderful lunch by Gaye Story who undertook to provide six-foot subs from Wal-Mart. We were ably assisted and represented by many club members who provided safety instruction and shooting tips for all involved. They in-cluded Tom Holt, Jason Grimm, Jeff Herrman, John Helsey, DeWayne Hel-lenga, Dan Sullivan, Paul Gamby, and Jerry Hebner. I hope I didn't miss any-one. A good time was had by all. With luck this will become an annual event with these wonderful young people. Tom Holt RSO

MEMBERS, BRING YOUR
PISTOLS
New members! Come on out with your pistol on Thursday nights and enjoy shooting with some of the old members. We would like to meet you and have you use our indoor pistol and rifle range. We will help you with your shooting skills for when you decide to take the club’s monthly CPL class. If you are not a current CPL holder, you will need to be sure to separate your ammunition and firearm and place these two items in different parts of your vehicle when transporting your fire-arm. The clubhouse range opens at 7:00 p.m.

As of March 24, the DNR fishing report for the St. Joseph River showed water flow was back within normal range and water temperatures dropped back into the 40's. A good number of steelhead were moving through the Berrien Springs fish ladder but the cold weather will likely decrease the influx of new fish once again. To catch weekly DNR fishing reports and tips, go to:
http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-10364_59567---,00.html
When fishing on Club grounds, please have your membership card available or car decal visible. Good fishing! Jeff Jones, Chairman
CLEANUP DAY
APRIL 16TH Jerry would like to have a
cleanup day focused on the Club grounds starting at 9:00
a.m., Saturday, April 16. With the die-off of ash trees
and strong spring winds, there are plenty of branches that need to be picked up. Please bring any lawn tools
you may own. Check the Club Website for updates: www.bcsportsmansclub.com
Lunch will be supplied for all who come out to help. Be sure to keep an eye on our Website in April and/or call
Jerry Hebner, Caretaker, 269-429-3792, for more details.
